The UK is located in the westernmost part of Europe with the Atlantic Ocean and Ireland towards the west. To the South-East lie countries like Netherlands, Belgium and France. The climate is heavily tempered by the Gulf Stream, so, despite the country lying mostly at the latitude of Labrador, it does not have extreme summer heat or winter cold.
